Teaming up for NAMI—and You!

Summit clincians participated in the virtual NAMI Walk!

Summit – We Care

We’ve done it again! Pandemic notwithstanding, our staff at Summit Clinical Services has once again laced up their shoes and joined in NAMI DuPage’s annual 5K “Run/Walk for the Mind”, an event designed to benefit the important work NAMI is doing in our community to provide support for individuals and families struggling with the effects of mental health challenges. Summit has been an enthusiastic part of this event for a number of years. Unlike past years, though, this year’s 5K was held virtually, with participants walking or running in their own neighborhoods. But as you can see from our photos, we’re still a team!

Why do we do this? We do it because it’s a way to express our ongoing commitment to two core values: providing excellent mental health services, and caring for the community that has been our home for more than two decades.

Since our inception over 26 years ago, professional excellence and community have been at the core of Summit’s identity. In April1994, a group of 7 clinicians–representing psychiatry, psychology, clinical social work, and  clinical therapy–joined together to establish a new mental health practice model, one in which we shared equally in the ownership and work of providing professional mental health services to the community around us. What began as an experiment still stands, and has expanded in both staff and services, and we are now recognized as one of the area’s leading practices in providing and coordinating quality mental health care.

We look forward to continuing our service to DuPage and the surrounding communities—and hitting the road again in next year’s NAMI 5 K!
