Dr. Jabeen Ali

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr. Jabeen Ali’s Background

Dr. Jabeen Ali is double board-certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed her undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She obtained her medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Ali completed her General Adult Psychiatry Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center and her subspeciality Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she also obtained Parent-Child Interaction Therapy certification.

Dr. Ali’s specialty is to provide high quality, attentive, compassionate, and holistic child and adolescent psychiatric evaluations and treatment for children, adolescents, and their families. She has special interests to support children and their families during difficult adjustments to life changes and events, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Dr. Ali’s approach is open, understanding, and collaborative with children, adolescents, and their families. She strives to work together with families to identify the struggles the child may be facing and to determine various ways to support them in feeling better, so they may live their life more fully with greater contentment and satisfaction.

Dr. Durkin, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Dr. Durkin’s Background

Dr. Rebecca Durkin is a Board Certified General Psychiatrist who specializes in Psychopharmacology.

She received her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Rush University Medical Center, where she also served as chief resident. She previously worked at Meridian Psychiatric Partners and later returned to teach at Rush University Medical Center prior to coming to Summit Clinical Services.

She treats a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses including: ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, among others. She has special interests in working with emerging adults (ages 18-25 years old) and those with treatment resistant mood disorders. She believes in a comprehensive approach to the treatment of mental illness, and often encourages psychotherapy and lifestyle changes in addition to medications. She is passionate about working collaboratively with patients to help them achieve their goals.

When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Durkin enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family, especially her two young children.

Dr. Mackender, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Dr. Mackender’s Background

Dr. Anna Mackender completed her medical school education at Southern Illinois University and her residency training in psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center at Chicago. She practices general psychiatry with specialization in pharmacology and is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She enjoys treating adults and adolescents with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD and other mental health problems. She also has a special interest in women’s mental health as well as treatment of psychiatric disorders during pregnancy and postpartum. Dr. Mackender values a multidisciplinary approach to mental health with a comprehensive assessment of psychological and life style issues designed to benefit the overall well-being of her patients.

Dr. Mackender was born and raised in Poland and has lived most of her life in the Chicago suburbs. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, outdoor adventures, and watching movies with her husband and three daughters.
